Designing the definitive digital guide on expiration dates
Brief
Create a digital guide for Feeding Westchester, explaining expiration dates and the shelf-life of common kitchen staples, as a tool
for them to reach out to potential members of their food pantry.
The challenge in reaching more members of their community relates to the social stigma of using a food pantry, or myths surrounding
where the food is sourced from in the first place.

Using parent organization Feeding America’s visual brand identity as a foundation, Hilary curated a collection of photographs and illustrations that speaks to young families in a warm, friendly and inviting way. She combined these with the existing brand elements to create a layout design template that meticulously accounts for even the tiniest details in this lengthy guide.
The client was so thrilled with the artistic direction and execution, they ordered a print version of the guide and moved all of their future design projects to SmartBug Media.
